Job summary

A General Accounting Clerk is sought to join Adecco Recursos Humanos in Lisbon within an international finance team. You will support key accounting operations across the business, focusing on asset management, month-end processes, and accurate financial postings.

The role requires IFRS knowledge, strong Excel and ERP experience, and fluency in English. A hybrid work setup and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset accounting (acquisitions, transfers, disposals, depreciation).
• Support month-end close and ensure reporting deadlines.
• Post journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash matching.
• Support VAT and withholding tax reporting.
• Maintain master data and inventory records.
• Process purchases and sales transactions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure service quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in Finance.

Join a Global Finance Team as a General Accounting Clerk!

Are you looking to take the next step in your accounting career within an international and fast-paced environment? Our client is looking for a General Accounting Clerk to join their Finance team and support key accounting operations across the business.

What You'll Do:

• Manage and maintain fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation reviews
• Support month-end closing activities and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and inventory adjustments
• Perform bank accounting activities, including reconciliations and cash transaction matching
• Support petty cash control processes and ensure accurate accounting records
• Assist with tax-related activities, including VAT and withholding tax reporting
• Maintain accounting master data, including chart of accounts and inventory records
• Process and monitor accounting transactions related to purchases and sales
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure service quality and process efficiency
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function

What You Bring:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Previous experience in General Accounting
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Knowledge of IAS/IFRS and local accounting regulations
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (Oracle Financials is a plus)
• Experience in a Shared Services environment is valued
• Fluency in English
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proactive mindset with excellent communication abilities
