Quion in Porto, Portugal, seeks a Functional QA to ensure quality of finance-related changes and releases. You will validate solutions against business requirements and collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver reliable services.

Responsibilities include designing tests, translating requirements into test cases, coordinating UAT, and documenting results. The role emphasizes improving test processes and expanding automation within a hybrid work setup at our Matosinhos office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of functional testing, acceptance testing, or QA domain experience.
• Experience with structured testing methodologies (TMap and/or ISTQB) preferred.
• Ability to translate requirements into test coverage and artifacts.
• Understanding of test automation for reusable functional scenarios.

As a Functional QA, you will ensure the quality and reliability of finance-related changes and releases. Working closely with business and IT teams, you will validate solutions against business requirements and help deliver high-quality services to our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure they are clear and testable.
• Design and execute functional, regression, and acceptance tests.
• Translate business requirements into test cases, test data, and expected results.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
• Document test results, defects, risks, and testing outcomes.
• Monitor test progress and provide insights on quality risks and release readiness.
• Support end-to-end testing across systems and business processes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Operations, and Finance stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve test processes and increase test automation coverage.

What do you need for this position?

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional and intellectual level, preferably in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Finance, Business Administration, Process Management or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in functional testing, acceptance testing, business analysis or domain-oriented quality assurance.
• Experience with structured testing techniques and methodologies such as TMap and/or ISTQB is preferred.
• Experience in creating test cases, test scripts, test data, test sets, expected results and test evidence.
• Ability to understand requirements, process flows, interfaces and chain impact and translate them into effective test coverage.
• Sufficient understanding of test automation to provide reusable functional scenarios, expected outcomes and domain rules to Test Specialists.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban and/or SAFe working methods.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of finance-related processes, mortgage servicing, regulated financial services or audit-sensitive environments.
• Experience with structured testing techniques and methodologies such as TMap and/or ISTQB.
