Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Functional Manager for Control & Protection Engineering to lead a team of Team Leaders across multiple locations within the HUB Europe Substation Automation Engineering unit.

The role combines people leadership with functional governance, ensuring competency, capacity, and standardized approaches to deliver current projects and build future capabilities. You will oversee process harmonization, tool standardization, and performance of the engineering function

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience within Substation Automation Systems, Control & Protection Engineering, or related field.
• Previous people leadership experience as Team Leader or Manager with a track record of building high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of engineering processes, project execution, and tools in Substation Automation environments.
• Experience in competency development, workforce planning, capacity management, engineering standardization, and organizational transformation initiatives.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills across a complex international organization.
• Fluent in English; additional European language skills are advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 12 Team Leaders across the Substation Automation Engineering community.
• Drive harmonization and standardization of engineering processes, tools, guidelines, and ways of working.
• Ensure effective utilization of engineering resources and accountability for service quality and performance.
• Harmonize hardware and software engineering tools across the Control and Protection Engineering community.
• Lead competency and capacity management to meet current and future project demands.
• Develop and implement standard engineering solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, and competitiveness.
• Define and maintain cost estimation models for Control and Protection Engineering and testing activities in projects.
• Contribute to the Operating Unit Substation Automation Engineering Management Team and support strategic initiatives and Center of Excellence projects.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 12 Team Leaders responsible for Control and Protection Engineering resources across the Operating Unit

Your background

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience within Substation Automation Systems, Control & Protection Engineering, or a closely related field
• Previous people leadership experience as a Team Leader or Manager, with a strong track record of developing high-performing teams
• Deep understanding of engineering processes, project execution, technical solutions, and tools within Substation Automation environments
• Experience in competency development, workforce planning, capacity management, engineering standardization, and organizational transformation initiatives
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across a complex international organization
• Structured, solution-oriented, and customer-focused approach to decision-making and problem-solving
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional European language skills are considered an advantage
