Wire IT, based remotely in Portugal, is seeking a senior software engineer to join an experienced, cross-functional team. The role focuses on building scalable Java/Spring Boot backends, RESTful microservices, and modern web apps using React and Next.js in a remote setting.

You will work with AI tooling to enhance code generation, testing, documentation, and code review, while ensuring quality, security, and maintainability across distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualificações

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience using AI tooling to support activities such as: code generation and refactoring; test creation and automation; documentation generation; code analysis and review.
• Ability to review, validate and improve AI-generated outputs to ensure quality, security and maintainability.
• Strong commercial experience developing software using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems, RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience building modern web applications using React; Next.js experience is desirable.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, code quality and maintainable code.
• Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility and responsive design.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and modern software delivery approaches.
• Experience with containerisation technologies.

Required skills:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.
