Job summary

Xelerate in Porto is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to design and build a European B2B marketplace platform connecting thousands of suppliers and hundreds of retailers. You will work across the stack, delivering back-end services in Java and Quarkus and front-end in Angular.

The platform runs on Microsoft Azure as a cloud-native solution, with RESTful APIs, microservices and a focus on scalable architecture, tests, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Java (17+) and Quarkus.
• Strong Angular and TypeScript frontend skills.
• Active experience designing RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Backend services & APIs: design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Quarkus.
• Frontend: build responsive interfaces with Angular and TypeScript.
• API contracts: model and expose clean JSON contracts between backend and frontend.
• Integration & data: integrate with databases and third-party services, handle data persistence and transformation.
• User journeys: translate complex B2B processes into frictionless user experiences; invoicing, payments and dashboards.
• Quality & delivery: write unit/integration/end-to-end tests, participate in code reviews and CI/CD tooling.

# Fullstack EngineerPorto · Senior · Full-timeYou have the opportunity to join our team and tackle business challenges in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment characterized by close collaboration with business stakeholders.As a **Fullstack Engineer**, you will design and build a **European B2B marketplace platform** for a leading European trade and services cooperation connecting thousands of suppliers and hundreds of retailers. The platform brings a growing set of digital services for retail and industry together in one modern, cloud-native experience on Microsoft Azure.Working across the full stack, you will develop robust backend services with **Java and Quarkus** and craft clean, responsive user interfaces with **Angular**, bridging the gap between complex business processes and seamless user journeys.**Your Role and Responsibilities:*** **Backend Services & APIs:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Quarkus, following cloud-native and microservices best practices.* **Frontend Development:** Build responsive, high-performance user interfaces with Angular and TypeScript, translating complex business logic into intuitive user experiences.* **API Contracts:** Model and expose clean, well-structured JSON contracts between backend services and the frontend, ensuring consistency and maintainability across the stack.* **Integration & Data:** Integrate with core enterprise systems, databases, and third-party services, handling data persistence, transformation, and orchestration.* **User Journeys:** Turn complex B2B processes between retailers and suppliers, such as invoicing, payments and claims handling, and data-heavy dashboards into frictionless user journeys.* **Quality & Delivery:** Write robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests across backend and frontend, contribute to code reviews and engineering standards, and support build tooling and containerized deployment pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.**Your Skills and Experiences:*** **Solid professional experience with Java (17+) and Quarkus**; strong experience with Spring Boot is also highly valued, along with a willingness to work with Quarkus.* **Proven experience building complex, state-heavy web applications with Angular and TypeScript.*** Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.* Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or Jest.* Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.* Experience with Tailwind CSS, shared component libraries or design systems, or messaging systems (such as Kafka) is a plus.* A pragmatic, end-to-end mindset, with the ability to take ownership of features from database to UI.* A highly collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to thrive in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams.* **Fluency in English** (spoken and written); German is a plus.**What you can expect from us:*** Remote-flexible environment;* Highly attractive salary and benefits;* Great work-life balance and flexibility;* You will be part of a company where commitment, quality, and continuous improvement are core principles of our culture;* Highly engaged tech community;* International career opportunities;* Focus on individual development.**About us:**xelerate.tech is passionate about software, tech, and people.
