Volkswagen Group Services in Lisbon is hiring a Fullstack Developer to join our Smart Cloud Factory Team. You will design and build scalable backend services and APIs, integrate with frontend and external systems, and collaborate with UI/UX and data teams to deliver robust solutions in a hybrid work setting.

You’ll work on cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to design systems while ensuring code quality and maintainability.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience using Figma to translate requirements into interfaces and design systems.
• Backend development experience with Python/Next.js/Node.js or similar.
• Experience designing REST/GraphQL APIs and data modeling in SQL.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong analytical, communication and multi-stakeholder collaboration skills.

The Smart Cloud Factory is dedicated to transforming traditional manufacturing into a fully connected, intelligent, and sustainable Smart Factory. The factory leverages digitalized and automated manufacturing processes, real-time data integration and analytics, sustainable and energy-efficient production systems, and human-machine collaboration to achieve Volkswagen’s vision of a Software-Enabled Car Company.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Python, Node.js, or equivalent frameworks.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and external services, ensuring reliable communication between frontend, backend, databases, and third‑party systems.
• Design and work with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modelling, queries, and application integration.
• Translate business requirements and UI/UX concepts into robust, maintainable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with UI/UX and business teams, using tools such as Figma, to create intuitive and consistent user experiences.
• Develop reusable components and contribute to common development standards, libraries, and design systems.
• Apply software engineering best practices related to code quality, testing, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices within the team.
• Support application deployment and operation in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Work with version control and CI/CD practices using Git and automated deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data and AI engineers to integrate data‑driven and AI‑based capabilities into applications when applicable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application stack.
• Participate actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and team discussions.
• Engage directly with different stakeholders to understand business needs and contribute to defining appropriate technical solutions.

What requirements are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Some experience using Figma (or equivalent) to translate product requirements into user‑friendly interfaces, applying core UI/UX design principles. Creating wireframes, design systems, and interactive prototypes.
• Experience developing backend applications or services using Python (FastAPI), Next.js, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of databases and data modelling, preferably with experience in SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of modern software development principles, including clean code, modular architecture, testing, and version control.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with or interest in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to understand both technical and business requirements.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of solutions from development through delivery.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary and international team.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Good English, spoken and written; German is a plus.
