Luza Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java with Quarkus or Spring, and to build modern Angular frontends.

You will work with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, contribute to micro frontend architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Portuguese and English.

Hybrid model with weekly presence in Lisbon; 5+ years of experience and a degree preferred.

Qualificações

• Strong experience building microservices with Java and Quarkus or Spring.
• Hands-on Angular frontend development and modern web UX.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerized apps.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD and cloud deployments.
• Strong Portuguese and English communication skills.

What You'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Quarkus or Spring.
• Build modern, maintainable frontend applications using Angular.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of micro frontend architectures, where applicable.
• Develop and integrate event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Work with both relational and non-relational databases, ensuring efficient and reliable data management.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and operate cloud-native solutions, with a strong focus on AWS.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in Portuguese and English.
• Continuously explore and adopt technologies and practices that improve scalability, reliability, security, and developer experience.
• Hybrid work model (once a week Lisbon)

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong experience developing microservices with Java, using Quarkus or Spring.
• Hands-on experience with Angular and modern frontend development
• Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD.
• Experience working with cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Strong communication skills in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience with micro frontends is valued.
• ~ Java, Cloud, or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
