Job summary

Decskill in Portugal is seeking a Senior FinOps & Cloud System Engineer to drive cloud financial operations across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

You will implement FinOps best practices, optimize costs, develop automation to collect and analyze usage data, and support architecture, engineering, and operations teams to adopt efficient cloud architectures.

This role offers long-term projects with national and international context, a people-first culture, and opportunities for technical growth.

Qualifications

• Up to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology, Jira, and Confluence (preferred).
• Proven hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience optimizing solutions deployed in public cloud environments.
• Practical knowledge of cloud cost management tools, ideally CloudHealth.

Responsibilities

• Implement and promote FinOps best practices across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization by identifying waste, cost anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
• Develop automation for collecting, analyzing, and processing cloud usage and cost data.
• Support Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams in adopting efficient and sustainable cloud architectures.
• Identify and execute cost optimization initiatives, including rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and cleanup of unused resources.
• Contribute to the evolution of the organization's FinOps strategy.
• Produce technical analyses and recommendations for the continuous improvement of cloud platforms.
• Act as the technical reference for efficiency, governance, and optimization in multi‑cloud environments.
• Create, maintain, and review detailed technical documentation.
