Job summary

Driscoll's is seeking an experienced Agronomist to work with Iberian partner growers, delivering technical expertise to optimize yield, quality and sustainability. You will deploy new growing practices, technologies and genetics while serving as a trusted advisor to the grower community.

You will visit fields regularly, support crop nutrition and pest management, and collaborate with R&D, production and nursery teams to implement innovations and share best practices across our operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Horticulture or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant agronomic experience.
• Fluent in Portuguese, both spoken and written.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Experience with substrate management and protected cultivation systems.
• Experience with soft fruit, berry crops desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to growers on crop production systems, plant nutrition, substrate management and integrated pest management.
• Regularly visit production fields to monitor crop performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Implement and support innovative growing techniques, technologies and new berry varieties.
• Lead field-based projects focused on improving yield, fruit quality, operational efficiency and sustainability.
• Monitor, document and report project progress and outcomes.
• Troubleshoot agronomic challenges and work collaboratively with growers and internal teams to develop solutions.
• Organize and deliver grower meetings, field tours, technical trainings and knowledge-sharing events.
• Partner closely with Applied Research, R&D, Production and Nursery teams to ensure successful deployment of new initiatives.
• Support the development of best management practices and technical production guides.
• Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues when needed.
