Your role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fertility Nurse to join our team in Cascais, Portugal. The role involves providing hands-on clinical care, coordinating treatment plans, supporting patients emotionally and practically, and contributing to the overall excellence of care delivery. You will work closely with physicians, embryologists, and administrative staff to ensure that patients receive personalised and effective fertility treatment.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Support
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to fertility patients, including consultations, assessments, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Administer medications and perform nursing interventions as required during fertility treatments.
  • Monitor and document patients’ clinical progress and report any relevant findings to the medical team.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical competence in fertility treatments and reproductive health.
  • Conduct introductory and pre-treatment calls to patients, providing information on treatment plans, finances, medication, and clinic logistics.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to patients, creating a compassionate and reassuring care experience.
Care Coordination & Communication
  • Collaborate with physicians, embryologists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, facilitating clear and timely communication.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient cases and treatment progress.
Operational & Quality Management
  • Support the Nurse Manager in managing daily clinical activities and nursing schedules.
  • Assist in the training, onboarding, and mentoring of junior nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and Portuguese/EU regulatory standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement in clinical operations and contribute to the development of updated nursing protocols.
  • Participate in quality control and patient safety initiatives.
Inventory & Resource Management
  • Participate in the management of clinical inventory, including medical supplies and medications.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of critical items.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and logs related to inventory use and replenishment.
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Valid registration with the Portuguese Nursing Council (Ordem dos Enfermeiros).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in fertility, reproductive health, or women’s health preferred.
  • Strong clinical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of digital health tools and electronic medical record systems is a plus.
