FutureHire in Lisbon is seeking an Entry Level Librarian to join our library team. You will assist with cataloging, manage circulation, provide reference services, and help maintain an organized library environment.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about books and eager to gain experience in library science. Note: This position welcomes applicants without prior library experience; on-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field, or actively pursuing a degree.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of library systems and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cataloging new materials and updating the library's online catalog.
• Manage circulation by checking out and returning books, collecting fines, and updating borrower information.
• Provide reference services to patrons by answering questions, assisting with research and recommending materials.
• Maintain the organization of the library by shelving books, organizing displays, and ensuring materials are in their correct location.
• Assist with library programming and events.
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop new initiatives and improve services.
