Kraken seeks a senior engineering manager to lead 8–10 engineers responsible for core trading backend services, including the matching engine and market data gateways.

You will stay technically engaged, unblock architecture discussions, and guide the evolution from legacy systems to modern replacements, with emphasis on performance and AI-assisted engineering practices.

You will collaborate with product and other pods to drive roadmap execution and help the team meet aggressive deadlines.

Qualificações

• Experience leading engineering teams and staying technically engaged.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based distributed or highly-concurrent systems.
• Proficiency in Rust and/or C++, with comfort across C++, Rust, Go, and Python.
• Understanding of order types, trading systems, and financial products.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and grow a team of 8–10 engineers owning core trading backend services (matching engine, market data gateways, order entry).
• Guide the evolution of the trading stack from legacy systems to modern replacements.
• Stay technically close to the stack to unblock and contribute to architecture discussions.
• Advise on performance and market data priorities and foster AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Partner with product and other pods to drive roadmap execution.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and communicate tradeoffs clearly.
