Kraken is seeking a Database Engineer to join a senior team of DBAs, SREs, and platform engineers. You will be responsible for scaling high-throughput PostgreSQL clusters and improving operational reliability and automation as Kraken continues to expand globally.

This role requires strong experience with PostgreSQL operational excellence, ensuring high availability and security, while leveraging vector data capabilities in an evolving, AI-enabled environment.

Qualificações

• 5+ years operating PostgreSQL including performance tuning and incident troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of MVCC, transaction isolation, and query planner behavior.
• Experience with streaming replication and disaster-recovery drills.

Responsabilidades

• Scale and tune high-throughput PostgreSQL clusters.
• Own PostgreSQL reliability fundamentals.
• Help build and operate vector data capabilities.

Conhecimentos

Operating PostgreSQL in high-volume environments

Understanding PostgreSQL internals and operations

Hands-on experience with high availability and read scaling

Experience with connection pooling

Practical VectorDB or vector search experience

Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows

Solid cloud, Linux, storage, and networking fundamentals

Experience with containers and orchestration platforms

Strong security instincts

Observability expertise

Strong communication and collaboration skills
