Job summary

Paddle is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Subscriptions team to lead the core of Paddle's recurring revenue engine, enabling customers to manage the full subscription lifecycle—from plan changes to trials and flexible billing.

You will align with a Product Manager, coach 4–6 engineers, and drive scalable, compliant systems that power payments and revenue across thousands of users.

Qualifications

• Experience with Go or similar languages.
• Experience building or scaling subscription or recurring billing systems.
• Have at least 2 years of management experience with several direct reports.
• Senior software engineer with experience on large-scale cloud-based systems.
• Strong communication and ability to lead technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of initiatives from concept to rollout with engineers and non-technical colleagues.
• Coach engineers to develop professionally and work as a high-impact team.
• Partner with Product Manager to create a roadmap and ensure sustainable impact.
• Drive improvements to team processes and practices with autonomy to change what isn’t working.
• Oversee technical decisions and strategy within the product area; this is a technical role with no coding expectation.
• Contribute to wider data strategy and improve reliability and scalability of high-traffic systems.
• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to reinforce Paddle’s engineering principles.
