Overview

About the job: We are seeking an Energy Market Operations Specialist to join our team. This position combines commercial operations with regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for managing our relationship with our route to market partner and ensuring our energy business meets all regulatory and internal reporting obligations.

Responsibilities

Market Operations

• Manage the relationship with our route to market supplier who executes bids in the OMIE.
• Prepare and submit consumption and generation forecasts to the supplier.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against contractual obligations, raising and resolving issues as needed.
• Support internal reporting on energy procurement, costs, and performance.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure the company complies with all Portuguese and EU regulatory reporting requirements e.g. ERSE, DGEG, REMIT, electricity labelling.
• Develop and maintain regulatory management systems and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to prepare accurate, timely submissions for regulators and internal management.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on impacts to business operations.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Economics or Management background.
• Experience in energy management, preferably with exposure to wholesale markets (OMIE or similar).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and reporting requirements in the electricity sector in Portugal.
• Proficiency in Python and Excel for data handling, automation, and reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate market and regulatory data into clear insights.
• Motivation to work in a very dynamic work environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Full working proficiency in English.

• Proven experience in management of external contractual counterparties.
• Proven experience in reporting and data handling.
