Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and verifying electrical works on-site, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with the approved scope of work, project specifications, and applicable Portuguese laws, regulations, and technical standards. The role involves monitoring compliance, reviewing technical documentation, conducting site inspections, and coordinating with contractors to ensure all electrical installations meet regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.

Specific Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify that electrical installations are executed in accordance with the approved scope of work, technical drawings, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical installations.
• Review electrical designs, technical drawings, method statements, and material specifications to ensure compliance with Portuguese regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure electrical works are completed in accordance with approved standards and project requirements.
• Identify, document, and report any non-compliance, deviations from the approved scope of work, or deficiencies in electrical installations.
• Monitor corrective actions and ensure identified non‑conformities are appropriately resolved.
• Verify that electrical equipment, materials, and installation methods meet applicable Portuguese and European standards.
• Coordinate with relevant Portuguese authorities, regulatory bodies, and inspection entities where required to facilitate approvals and compliance.
• Oversee electrical testing, inspections, and commissioning activities to verify compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of site inspections, compliance assessments, technical documentation, and progress reports.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams regarding Portuguese electrical regulations, installation requirements, and industry best practices.
• Ensure that any proposed modifications or variations to the electrical scope of work are reviewed and approved before implementation.
• Support project handover by verifying that all required electrical certifications, inspection reports, as-built drawings, and compliance documentation are completed and submitted.
