As a Rotating Nurse, you will thrive in a diverse and multi-disciplinary referral environment, working across various disciplines including Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Wards, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology and Imaging. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a wide range of tasks such as:

  1. Monitoring sedations/anaesthetics
  2. Providing exceptional inpatient care
  3. Assisting with imaging procedures (x-ray/ultrasound/CT/MRI)
  4. Contributing to transfusion medicine
  5. Supporting diagnostic procedures
  6. Managing admits/discharges
  7. Drug calculations, fluid calculations, and CRI administration
Work with a Specialist-led team and cutting-edge facilities

Pride Veterinary Referrals is equipped with industry leading facilities and advanced diagnostic tools, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. Our facilities provide an exceptional care environment. Our in-patient wards are large, air-conditioned, well-equipped and meet the highest RCVS and ISFM standards. In addition, dedicated canine and feline procedure rooms are provided so that examinations and minor procedures can be performed away from the other patients.

Our large and experienced team ensures access to leading-edge specialist knowledge, offering you an advanced and varied caseload that promotes the development of your clinical skills. While we prioritise clinical excellence and gold-standard patient care, we maintain a friendly and supportive culture within the team.

To succeed in this role, you must be a qualified RVN, ideally with at least 1 year of post-graduation experience, as some aspects of the role involve independent work. Experience of working in a hospital is required. Any additional qualifications, such as certificates, are advantageous, and you should be able to demonstrate clinical competence in standard nursing protocols.

Working pattern

Our Rotating Nurse will work on average 38hrs/week, over a 4-day working week. You will usually cover a mix of 08:00-17:30, 08:30-18:00 and 08:30-19:00 shifts during the week, plus a 1:6 weekend rota in our wards department (Saturday & Sunday, 07:45-18:00). Approximately 1 Friday in every 8 weeks, you will cover the Twilight shift which is a 3pm-12am + on-call for the rest of the evening, supplemented as overtime if called out.
