Webasto SE is seeking an Applications Architect to strengthen our DS Applications around SAP platforms in Lisboa, Portugal. The role focuses on architecture governance, integration of APIs and data flows, and maintaining a clean core while minimizing technical debt.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in SAP technical fields, experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, and strong stakeholder management. Travel to Germany up to 10% is required. This is a permanent, on-site position in Lisbon.

Qualificações

Bachelor level degree in a relevant field and strong SAP background.
8+ years experience in SAP technical fields, like SAP Development, Integration layers or SAP Architecture.
Proven experience managing complex SAP landscapes in international environments.
Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes in SAP; knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and surrounding landscape.

Responsabilidades

Lead architecture governance by defining design principles, patterns and guardrails.
Shape APIs, data flows and interfaces with integration and security teams for reliable end-to-end behavior.
Promote fit-to-standard, controlled extensibility and reduce technical debt while considering release and operability needs.
Partner with process owners to map end-to-end processes and identify standardization opportunities.
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable SAP architectures across SAP S/4HANA, BTP and related ecosystems.
Ensure security, identity, compliance, resilience, and performance from design through go-live and operations.

We are seeking an Applications Architect to strengthen our internal DS Applications

You can look forward to these exciting tasks:

Architecture governance – Set design principles, patterns and guardrails; lead
architecture reviews and ensure traceability of key decisions and exceptions.
Integration & data – Shape APIs, events, interfaces and data flows together with
integration, data and security specialists, ensuring clear ownership and reliable end
to-end behavior.
Clean core & lifecycle – Promote fit-to-standard, controlled extensibility and reduction
of technical debt while considering release, upgrade, operability and support
requirements.
Business process - Alignment and project delivery– Partner with process owners and
application experts to map end-to-end processes, clarify requirements and identify
simplification, standardization and automation opportunities; Support DS Applications
products with architectural leadership for complex initiatives, assess solution options,
risks and dependencies, and support planning through implementation and transition
to operations.
Solution design – Support DS Applications teams by translating functional
requirements into scalable, maintainable and supportable designs across SAP S/4HANA, BTP and the wider application ecosystem.
Quality & security – Ensure solutions address security, identity, compliance, resilience,
performance and maintainability from design through go-live and operations

This is what you bring to us:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Informatics or a related field.
Background in global manufacturing or automotive environments.
Experience with agile delivery methods and architecture tools or repositories such as LeanIX.
8+ years experience in SAP technical fields, like SAP Development, Integration layers or SAP Architecture.
Proven experience managing complex SAP landscapes in international environments.
Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and their implementation in SAP; broad knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and the surrounding application landscape.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into architecture decisions, solution designs, roadmaps and implementation guidance.
Experience with integration principles, APIs, event-driven patterns, data flows and hybrid cloud/on-premises landscapes; SAP BTP knowledge is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of clean-core principles and technical debt reduction. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills, with the ability to compare options and communicate trade-offs clearly.
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and documentation skills across business, IT, delivery partners and architecture communities.
Able to work independently on complex topics and provide functional guidance to application experts, developers and project teams.
Fluent English (mandatory).
Willingness to travel to Germany up to 10% of the time.
