DevOps Engineer - Production Systems & On-Call

Job summary

Nimber is seeking for an Infrastructure Production Engineer in Porto, Portugal to operate and industrialize applications in production, focusing on standardization, automation, and evolution of technical needs. You will join the DevOps System Team and support critical production environments.

Responsibilities include coordinating changes, drafting operating instructions, and resolving production incidents while collaborating with systems, database, and network engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in Windows and Unix environments.
• Proficiency in Shell (KSH) and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Oracle databases.
• Experience with CI/CD and collaboration tools: Jenkins, Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of Micro Focus CSA (HCM).
• Knowledge of Python.
• Willingness to work staggered schedules (06:30 to 19:30) and participate in on-call rotation (7 days / weekends).

Responsibilities

• Follow up and coordinate changes and technical operations (e.g. electrical shutdowns, server moves).
• Draft and update operating instructions.
• Document application components and operation: software architecture, technical architecture, procedures and supervision needs.
• Produce new versions of applications.
• Manage batch and job scheduling.
• Carry out the commissioning of new application versions, working with development and maintenance teams, as well as with systems, database and network engineers.
• Participate in the resolution of production incidents.
