Loop Future is seeking an Elastic Stack and Observability Engineer to maintain, grow, and support our observability platform across Mainframe, Open Systems, and container environments. You will work with diverse teams to improve monitoring, performance, and data handling.

We value hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, and OpenTelemetry, plus hands-on Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD familiarity.

Qualificações

• 1–3 years IT experience with monitoring/support exposure.
• Strong knowledge of Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agents, OpenTelemetry.
• Understanding of logs, metrics, traces, golden signals.
• Linux or Windows basics (filesystems, processes, metrics).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD concepts (Git, Jenkins).
• Excellent English skills (C1); French/Dutch a bonus.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or similar field.
• Valid work permit for Portugal or EU/Schengen citizenship.

Responsabilidades

About Role:

We're looking for a skilled Elasticsearch & Observability Engineer to join our team on an international and exciting project. This role is open to both Junior and Senior candidates, and involves supporting, building, and growing the Elastic Stack to improve monitoring and system visibility across different environments, including Mainframe, Open Systems, and Container platforms. The right candidate has hands-on or growing skills in the Elastic Stack, a good understanding of observability basics, and the ability to work well with different teams and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, support, and grow the Elastic Stack (Beats, Elastic Agents, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana)
• Help check platform health, carry out routine maintenance, and monitor alerts; Senior candidates will also work on improving platform performance, indexing, and how data is stored and managed
• Help other teams get set up on the observability platform
• Help with or lead troubleshooting, finding the root cause of issues, and handling incidents
• Keep clear records of work done, updates made, and tickets resolved
• Work closely with the team, architects, and stakeholders, and keep everyone updated on progress

Requirements:

Junior (1–3 years):

• 1–3 years of experience in IT, with some exposure to monitoring and support
• Good knowledge of Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agents, and OpenTelemetry
• Understanding of key observability ideas (logs, metrics, traces, golden signals)
• Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows basics (file systems, processes, key performance numbers)
• Some familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD concepts (Git, Jenkins) is a plus
• Strong English skills (C1), spoken and written; French and/or Dutch is a bonus
• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field
• Must have a valid work permit or EU/Schengen citizenship to legally work in Portugal

Senior (5–10 years):

• 5–10 years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on monitoring and production support
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agents, and OpenTelemetry
• Solid understanding of core observability ideas (logs, metrics, traces, golden signals)
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows fundamentals (processes, file systems, key metrics); Mainframe knowledge is a plus
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Ansible)
• Strong English skills (C1), spoken and written; French and/or Dutch is a bonus
• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field
• Must have a valid work permit or EU/Schengen citizenship to legally work in Portugal

Nice to Have:

• Elasticsearch certification
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
• Experience working in regulated industries (like Financial Services)
• Familiarity with ITIL or incident management processes
