Nimber is seeking a Senior Java Developer to build and maintain scalable, highly available Java applications in the digital payments space. You’ll analyze, develop and review code, improve performance and security, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software.

The role requires Java 8+, solid knowledge of database SQL, XML/REST services, JMS messaging, and asynchronous systems. A university degree and strong problem-solving skills are essential; you’ll mentor juniors

We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to work on applications in the digital payments space. Someone who cares about how software behaves under pressure, enjoys getting to the root of a complex issue and brings ideas to the table.

You’ll help build and maintain scalable, highly available applications, contribute to technical decisions and support less experienced developers along the way.

What are we looking for?

• Advanced knowledge of Java 8 or later.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience developing and integrating XML and REST web services, ideally with exposure to EMS/JMS messaging.
• Knowledge of asynchronous systems.
• A university degree.
• An analytical mindset, attention to detail and a practical approach to solving problems.
• The autonomy to organise your work and the communication skills to move forward as a team.

We also value

• Knowledge of e-commerce or digital payment solutions.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency with frameworks such as Spring.
• Knowledge of application security technologies and standards, including OAuth2, JWT, OpenID and JWS.
• Familiarity with Apache Pulsar.
