EXADS in Porto, Portugal, seeks a Database Administrator to manage and monitor ClickHouse and MariaDB clusters, ensuring reliability and cost-effective resource use.

You will collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and maintain databases based on end-user requirements, optimize designs, and contribute to knowledge sharing within a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• Proven experience with MySQL/MariaDB administration.
• Experience in diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving operational problems.
• Experience in database performance analysis and fine-tuning.
• Knowledge about partitioning and sharding of data.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and related management tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Previous exposure to programming languages such as PHP, Python and Go.
• BS / MS in Computer Science / related technical discipline OR equivalent experience.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor ClickHouse database clusters;
• Manage and monitor MariaDB database systems;
• Ensure system reliability and stability over time;
• Ensure the best cost-effective and efficient use of resources;
• Work together with development teams to design, implement and maintain databases based on end-user requirements;

You have:

• Proven experience with MySQL/MariaDB administration;

• Knowledge about partitioning and sharding of data;
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and related management tools (JIRA, Confluence);
• Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills;
• Desired exposure to programming languages such as PHP, Python and Go;
• Previous experience with BigData systems (Hadoop, Impala, ClickHouse) is considered a big plus.
• BS / MS in Computer Science / related technical discipline OR equivalent experience.
