Abroad Work in Funchal, Portugal, is seeking a Database Administrator to ensure performance, integrity and security of our databases. You will work with the IT team to configure, maintain and optimize databases, perform backups and monitor activity.

You should be able to troubleshoot issues and document processes. This full-time role includes accommodation in Funchal and opportunities to work on modern database technologies.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required or preferred.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator.
• Knowledge of DBMS such as MySQL and Oracle.
• Familiarity with SQL and Java.
• Experience with data backup, recovery and security protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for the performance integrity and security of our companys databases You will work closely with the IT team to ensure that our databases are properly configured maintained and optimized Your role will also involve troubleshooting issues monitoring database activity and performing regular backups to ensure data reliability You should have a strong understanding of database management systems and be able to work independently This is a full-time position based in Funchal with accommodation provided

• Develop documentation for database processes and procedures
• Conduct regular backups to ensure data reliability
• Collaborate with the IT team on database-related projects
• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in database administration

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
• Knowledge of database management systems eg MySQL Oracle
• Familiarity with SQL language and programming languages eg Java
• Experience with data backup recovery and security protocols
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills
