We are looking for an AI Privacy Engineer / Data Protection Coordinator to join an international team and play a key role in ensuring that AI solutions, agentic systems, and AI-powered tools are designed and operated in compliance with GDPR, the EU AI Act, and internal data protection frameworks. You will work at the intersection of AI, privacy, governance, and technology, enabling the responsible scaling of AI initiatives across Europe.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Law, or a related field.
- Additional qualification in Data Protection, Privacy, or Technology Law is highly valued.
- Strong working knowledge of GDPR.
- Understanding of the EU AI Act and AI governance principles.
- Solid technical knowledge of modern AI systems, including LLMs, RAG, vector stores, AI agents, and tool integrations.
- Experience conducting DPIAs, privacy risk assessments, and data protection reviews.
- Knowledge of international data transfers and data subject rights processes.
- Experience translating regulatory and privacy requirements into practical technical controls and implementation guidance.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with engineering, security, legal, and business teams.
- Pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced environments.
- Fluency in English is mandatory. Portuguese is highly valued.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in multinational or multi-country environments.
- Hands-on exposure to AI platforms such as Azure AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar solutions.
- Familiarity with privacy and compliance considerations related to Microsoft 365 Copilot or other enterprise AI tools.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPT, ISACA, PECB, or equivalent.
- Experience with AI governance, risk management, or model risk frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Own and coordinate the data protection review process for AI use cases and solutions.
- Translate privacy and regulatory requirements into actionable technical guidance for AI and platform teams.
- Ensure data protection by design and by default principles are embedded across AI products and integrations.
- Conduct DPIAs, privacy risk assessments, and AI-related compliance evaluations.
- Define and drive implementation of mitigation measures together with engineering teams.
- Maintain clear and auditable documentation, including data flows, controls, safeguards, and design decisions.
- Act as the bridge between technical teams and corporate data protection functions.
- Support scalable AI governance by ensuring compliance evidence and accountability mechanisms are maintained.
- Collaborate with AI, Security, Legal, Data Protection, and IT stakeholders across multiple countries.
- Support readiness for data subject rights requests and AI-related privacy incidents.
