SBM Offshore seeks a Data Governance Specialist to develop and implement governance policies ensuring data integrity, security, and quality across the organization. You will collaborate with data stewards, owners, and stakeholders to set standards and oversee compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on design and management of data infrastructures (including cloud), and proven ability to drive governance initiatives in a global environment. English fluency is mandatory.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred but not mandatory.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.
• Proficiency in English essential for effective communication.

• Provide guidance and support to data users on data governance best practices.
• Maintain and update data governance documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
• Manage data governance tools and platforms to support governance activities.
• Identify opportunities for improving data management processes and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate with IT and data management teams to integrate governance requirements into systems.
• Facilitate data governance training and awareness programs for employees.
• Report on data governance metrics and performance to senior management.
• Lead data governance working groups and committees to drive initiatives.
• Support development and implementation of data governance strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Foster a culture of data governance and stewardship.

Purpose

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Certifications such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), PMP (Project Management Professional), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, demonstrating expertise in data governance and management, are preferred. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors. A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies and frameworks.
• Strong technical background with hands‑on experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex data infrastructures, including cloud environments and data integration.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce data governance standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with data governance tools and frameworks such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and their application in data governance.
• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team‑building skills, with a passion for developing and mentoring talent.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
