Capgemini Engineering seeks a senior data engineering professional to validate data architectures, oversee delivery, and optimize data pipelines and warehouses. The role emphasizes hands-on implementation, collaboration with the Data Platform team, and driving industrialisation with a cloud-first migration mindset.

The position requires coaching stakeholders, contributing to architectural blueprints, and delivering scalable data solutions across hybrid environments, with regular on-site presence

• Proven experience implementing data engineering on cloud-based platforms (AWS).
• Expertise with lakehouse architectures built on Iceberg.
• Strong data pipeline and data warehouse workload optimization experience.
• Solid data architecture background to translate decisions into work packages.
• Experience supporting migration-related implementations within a cloud strategy.
• Familiarity with Iceberg/S3 medallion context and related standards.

YOUR ROLE

• Validate the target data architecture and provide technical oversight across the delivery activities.
• Reduce complexity, limit duplicated processing ("double run") and propose a scalable, industrialisable architecture.
• Lead the implementation backlog and coordinate engineering activities to complete and stabilise the in-scope pilot components.
• Deliver hands‑on completion and optimisation of the data warehouse and data pipelines.
• Coordinate closely with the internal Data Platform team and cloud orchestration to ensure practical integration and adoption.
• Coach and upskill internal stakeholders and provide technical handover support, as knowledge transfer is a mandatory outcome.
• A delivery execution plan supporting pilot finalisation against the agreed milestone.
• Expert, hands‑on completion and optimisation of the data pipelines.
• Implementation support for the target architecture and technical standards.
• A contribution to the implementation roadmap and the sequencing of industrialisation steps.
• Technical coaching, handover and operational knowledge‑transfer materials.

YOUR PROFILE

• Strong experience in data engineering implementation within cloud-based data platforms, on AWS.
• Proven expertise in AWS lakehouse architecture, specifically platforms built on Apache Iceberg.
• Strong experience in data pipeline implementation and optimisation, including data warehouse workloads.
• Solid data architecture background, enabling you to translate architecture decisions into implementable work packages.
• Experience supporting migration‑related implementation aligned to a broader cloud migration strategy.
• Familiarity with the target architecture context: medallion architecture based on Iceberg and S3 tables.
• The ability to contribute to standards and blueprints, implementation sequencing and the technical enablement of internal teams.
• Client‑and business‑oriented, with strong planning and organisation skills.
• Rigorous and process‑focused, with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable leading and upskilling others; may have Senior Data Engineers as direct reports, though this is not required.
• Able to operate in a hybrid advisory + delivery model, with regular on‑site presence in Geneva.
