Hexa Consulting is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to drive cloud data migration and platform modernization in the banking sector, in a hybrid role from Lisbon or Porto.

You will design migrations from SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform, develop BigQuery pipelines, and optimize performance while ensuring data quality. Collaboration with DBAs and stakeholders is essential.

Qualificações

• 6–9 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in similar data engineering roles.
• Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms, data migration and data pipeline development.
• Professional working proficiency in English at B2 level or above.
• Ability to analyze existing systems, understand business needs and design reliable cloud data solutions.

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute data and ETL migrations from SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain data transfer, transformation and integration pipelines for BigQuery.
• Design and operationalize ETL and ELT workflows using Google Cloud Composer.
• Develop complex SQL queries and optimize BigQuery performance, partitioning, clustering and cost utilization.
• Contribute to data schema design adapted to cloud-based data architectures.
• Use Python to automate migration tasks, data transformation processes and integration with GCP services.
• Implement controls to support data quality, integrity and reliability during and after migration.
• Collaborate with DBAs, analysts, business stakeholders and data users to support a smooth transition.
• Participate in code reviews, testing strategies, monitoring, debugging and incident resolution.
• Propose technical improvements and optimizations for the cloud data platform.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Participate in the design and execution of data and ETL migration from SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform.
