Job summary

Alstom in Porto seeks a Project Contract Manager to drive contract strategy and protect project value in complex mobility projects. You will lead contract management, manage claims, and ensure CCIM standards while collaborating with legal, procurement and finance teams.

The role requires 10+ years in contract/claims or project management, fluency in Portuguese and English, and knowledge of CCP/public procurement. Multinational engineering experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Monitor obligations, milestones and project performance, and prepare documentation for disputes or litigation.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, finance and legal teams.

Your role, your impact

Lead contract and claim management activities across the project lifecycle

Define and implement Contract Management Strategy Plans (CMSP)

Drive risk reviews and mitigation strategies on a regular basis

Manage variations, claims, extensions of time (EoTs) and contractual notices

Ensure compliance with contract, claims and insurance management standards (CCIM)

Support negotiations with customers, partners and suppliers

Monitor contractual obligations, milestones and project performance

Prepare and manage documentation for claims, disputes (e.G. DAB) and litigation support

Collaborate transversally with project teams, legal, procurement and finance

You'll work with multidisciplinary teams across project management, engineering, finance and legal - solving complex contractual challenges that directly impact project success.

What You Bring

Degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Economics or related field

Strong experience in contract/claim management or project management (10+ years preferred)

Knowledge of Portuguese law and public procurement (CCP)

Fluency in Portuguese and English

Ability to interpret complex contractual and technical documentation

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities

Experience in multinational engineering or infrastructure projects (a plus)

Spanish or French (a plus)
