The Cluster Director of Finance will be responsible for Sheraton Cascais Resort and YOTEL Porto providing strategic and operational financial leadership to the properties, ensuring financial integrity, sustainability and profitability of the business. Safeguard the company's assets through strong internal controls, compliance with legal, fiscal and brand requirements, and transparent financial governance.
This person will act as a key strategic partner to the General Manager and Owners, supporting informed decision-making through accurate financial analysis, forecasting and performance monitoring, while promoting a culture of accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement across all departments.
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Define and implement the financial strategy of the property in alignment with business objectives, ownership expectations and brand standards.
- Act as the principal financial advisor to the General Manager and Owners, providing insights on performance, risks and opportunities.
- Translate operational activities into financial impact, supporting strategic and investment decisions.
- Ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting, including monthly closings, forecasts, budgets and long-term business plans.
- Monitor key financial indicators (GOP, cash flow, margins, payroll ratio, productivity, cost efficiency) and implement corrective actions when required.
- Oversee accounting integrity across all finance sub-functions (GL, AP, AR, Income Audit, Cost Control, Cashiering).
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, labour-related financial obligations and brand requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring findings are addressed in a timely and structured manner.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
People, Assets & Business Support
- Lead, develop and evaluate the Finance team, ensuring competence, segregation of duties and succession planning.
- Protect physical and financial assets of the property, including cash, inventories and fixed assets.
- Partner with operational departments to support cost optimisation, pricing decisions and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance and Accounting or related;
- 5-10 years of experience in finance and accounting, or a related professional area, with proven experience in a Finance Director role.
- Experience with various accounting management software - SAP (preferred requirement);
- Knowledge in accounting procedures and principals;
- Domain with Excel;
- Proactivity, dynamism and a high sense of responsibility;
- Team spirit and easy interpersonal relationships;
- Available to Travel;
- Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese.
