Inetum is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Operations Engineer to join the Group IT Cloud Operations team in Portugal. You will ensure stability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of the Azure cloud environment for critical business applications.

You will operate and evolve the Azure platform, drive automation, and collaborate with security, development, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable cloud services. Strong IaC, DevOps, and communication skills are essential.

We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Group IT Cloud Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of our client's Azure cloud environment.

You will play a key role in operating and evolving our Azure platform, supporting critical business applications, driving automation initiatives, and acting as a technical expert for complex cloud infrastructure challenges. The position requires close collaboration with infrastructure, security, and development teams to deliver reliable and scalable cloud services.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, operate, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure and hosting services.
• Deploy and maintain Azure resources using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep) and automation tools.
• Support and operate core Azure services, including networking, compute, identity, monitoring, databases, and security services.
• Design and maintain integrations between Azure platform services and enterprise applications.
• Monitor Azure and hybrid environments to ensure service availability, performance, and reliability.
• Act as third-line support for Azure platform incidents, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments and support security, compliance, governance, and auditing activities.
• Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure production readiness and successful implementations.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, technical documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding incidents, service health, planned changes, and improvement opportunities.
• Stay current with Microsoft Azure innovations and cloud engineering best practices.

Profile

• Cloud & Azure Expertise
• Strong working knowledge of security best practices for Microsoft Azure and cloud‑native services.
• Hands‑on experience deploying and operating Azure resources using PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and modern Azure services (Functions, Storage, Key Vault, Front Door, AI Foundry, etc.).
• Practical experience with Entra ID, Conditional Access, identity governance, and third‑party SSO integrations.
• Familiarity with Azure Landing Zones, RBAC, policy‑based governance, and PowerShell scripting.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code & DevOps
• Solid experience with Terraform or Bicep for provisioning, standardization, and automation of Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines (CI/CD), YAML pipelines, and release automation.
• Understanding of containerization concepts (Docker) and orchestration fundamentals (AKS basics appreciated).
• Ability to automate operational tasks and deployments using IaC, scripting, and DevOps tooling.
• Proven customer‑service mindset and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Clear communication skills with technical and non‑technical audiences, including partners and customers.
• Ownership‑driven approach with structured reporting to managers or project teams.
• Up‑to‑date awareness of emerging Azure technologies, DevOps practices, and cloud engineering trends.
• Good level of English (spoken and written).
