Job summary

Empa-T is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join an international project and serve as the escalation point between Support and Infrastructure teams. You will own complex issues through to resolution and help improve cloud and workplace technologies.

You will work with Azure IaaS/PaaS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SQL databases, PowerShell, and ITIL processes, helping plan, document, mentor Service Desk, and drive stability across Windows environments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
• Good knowledge of Entra ID.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL / Azure SQL databases.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex technical issues from investigation through to resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable technical fixes.
• Create and maintain Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs) and technical documentation.
• Participate in Problem Management meetings and Change Advisory Boards (CABs).
• Support and troubleshoot Azure IaaS and PaaS infrastructure.
• Manage and diagnose issues across Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
• Support Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL databases.
• Work with user directories, groups, permissions, cloud directories, and servers.
• Support the planning and delivery of IT infrastructure projects.
• Train and mentor Service Desk teams and promote knowledge sharing across the organization.

This role combines Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft 365, troubleshooting, end‑user support, automation, and infrastructure operations, offering the opportunity to work across a broad Microsoft technology environment.

About the Project

You will join an infrastructure team responsible for maintaining and supporting critical cloud and workplace technologies.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will investigate complex escalations, perform root cause analysis, implement sustainable solutions, and collaborate with different technical teams to improve infrastructure stability and prevent recurring issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with third‑party vendors and suppliers on infrastructure‑related services and escalations.
• Support the planning and delivery of IT infrastructure projects.
• Train and mentor Service Desk teams and promote knowledge sharing across the organization.

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
• Good knowledge of Entra ID.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL / Azure SQL databases.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven experience handling technical escalations and complex infrastructure issues.
• Experience supporting end‑user devices and working directly with users.
• Good understanding of SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Experience participating in Problem Management and CAB processes.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune / Mobile Device Management is a plus.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices is a plus.
• Previous mentoring or technical training experience is a plus.
