Vodafone in Portugal is seeking an experienced cloud and virtualization specialist to lead delivery of European solutions. You will design and evolve on-prem/cloud infrastructure using Red Hat, VMware, and containerization with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related tools.

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Strong individual analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• At least 5 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization telco workload.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.

Responsible for delivering and evolving Cloud infrastructure in alignment with the domain's strategy and objectives, ensuring the design and implementation of Red Hat and VMware solutions. Experienced in building infrastructure and integrating network functions within on-premises Cloud environments. Strong expertise in CaaS and IaaS technologies, including OpenShift, VMware, virtualization, compute, storage, and networking. Works closely with Onboarding teams to automate end-to-end integrations, driving operational efficiency and process optimization. Specialized in Cloud Native and virtualization platforms, with hands‑on experience in Kubernetes, GitLab, Argo CD, and Ansible. Possesses in‑depth knowledge of the VMware Telco Cloud ecosystem, including vSphere, NSX‑T, vCloud Director, Telco Cloud Automation (TCA), and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG). Responsible for implementing best practices, managing hardware and software lifecycle processes, and maintaining a robust and scalable technology infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

Who You Are

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field;
• Strong communication and negotiation skills;
• Customer oriented and systematic way of working;
• Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change;
• Strong individual applied thinking;
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills;
• At least 5 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization telco workload;
• Expert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (Telco);
• Solid understanding of virtualization (RedHat, vmWare) and containerization (RedHat/ Kubernetes);
• Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (ie. BGP / ISIS / OSPF);
• Experience with kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress);
• Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls;
• Experience designing/implementing IPv6 solutions;
• Scripting expertise is preferred (Power CLI, Ansible, Powershell, Python);
• Process creation and execution;
• Cloud computing architecture and design (IT and Telco);
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
