Shakers is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer for a freelance, long-term project. The role is hybrid with 2 days per week on-site in Lisbon, Portugal, and focuses on building a scalable data platform using Azure-native tooling.

You will own end-to-end architectures, implement pipelines, and ensure data quality and governance. The engagement targets senior engineers collaborating with international clients.

Qualificações

• Design end-to-end data architectures (Medallion or similar).
• Hands-on with Azure cloud-native tooling.
• DevOps/DataOps mindset — not just building, but maintaining and scaling.
• Strong English — written and verbal.

We're looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to join a freelance long-term project with one of the world's leading professional services firms. Hybrid role — 2 days/week in Lisbon.

You'll be at the center of a serious data platform build: end-to-end architectures, Azure-native stack, Medallion patterns, pipeline optimization. Not a maintenance gig — this is a foundational role with real architectural ownership that evolves over time.

What you'll be working with:

• Microsoft Azure: Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse
• Data lakes & warehouses: Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Redshift
• Python (Pandas, Boto3), SQL, Spark
• RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
• CI/CD pipelines for data solutions (DataOps)
• Data quality, lineage tracking, monitoring at scale

What we're looking for:

• Solid experience designing end-to-end data architectures (Medallion or similar)
• Hands-on with Azure cloud-native tooling
• DevOps/DataOps mindset — not just building, but maintaining and scaling
• Strong English — written and verbal
