Job summary

Accenture Portugal is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines that support analytics and decision-making. You will work with cloud platforms, ETL/ELT development, and data governance to ensure reliable data delivery across the organization.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, translate complex requirements into robust data solutions, and contribute to improving data quality, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related technical roles
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, transformation, and automation
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and workflows
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and modern data integration patterns
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, security, and compliance principles
• Experience managing databases and ensuring data reliability and performance
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in agile environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field
• Fluent in English (C1 or above), with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows for structured and unstructured data
• Build reusable frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and optimization
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL
• Deploy and support data solutions in production environments, ensuring reliability and performance
• Automate data flows to enable efficient and seamless data consumption across the organization
• Develop and maintain internal tools and applications to support data operations
• Monitor data pipelines, data quality metrics, and system performance
• Implement and promote best practices for data governance, data security, and data quality
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering processes and standards
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and data engineering best practices
