Application Engineer (Chemical Engineer) – Nalco Water Light

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Application Engineer to join our Light Manufacturing Division. You’ll be responsible for revenue and profit growth of programs and services in targeted accounts, building relationships with customers, understanding their business drivers, and executing system assurance programs. You will also convert strategic accounts and sell new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Support sales personnel with service calls and problem resolution.
• Participate in design reviews, new application start-ups, and evaluations.
• Assess on-site problems and operate testing equipment.
• Coordinate parts programs with manufacturing plants.
• Prepare technical reports and document value provided to customers.
• Develop troubleshooting guides and maintain them.
• Manage outside subcontractors to ensure repair timelines and customer satisfaction.
• Work towards continuous improvement of policies and procedures.
• Provide installation support and project services.
• Stay updated on industry advances through education.
• Ensure safety compliance and vehicle operation standards.

Territory/Location:

Remote work in the Porto area, serving all of Portugal.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial engineering or chemistry.
• Experience in technical or field sales support in water treatment or chemical industry.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater systems.
