The Opportunity:

Under close supervision, provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities. Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations (e.g. media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, witness senior staff experiments). Maintain lab inventory and labeling (e.g. chemical reagents, glassware, gas cylinder levels). Verification/maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, glass washing).

Major Duties and Responsibilities

As a Chemical Analyst, you will:

  • Perform routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical tests using standard procedures
  • Operate purification equipment for manufacturing in accordance with SOPs
  • Support experiments to develop scaled-up purification processes
  • Provide technical assistance to production operations
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and validate laboratory equipment
  • Independently interpret specifications and procedures, and document experiments accurately
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, testing records, and worksheets per established protocols
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred
  • 3–5 years of laboratory experience or equivalent academic background
  • Strong understanding of production and manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with biological/pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to meet all customer requirements including background checks, health screenings, and security clearances
  • Skilled in using laboratory instruments and conducting analytical tests
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with a proactive, customer-focused attitude
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with site protocols
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Strong task prioritization and deadline management
  • Familiarity with VWR products and services is a plus
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
