Yazaki North America, Inc. is seeking a CAD Engineering Senior Specialist in our plant to lead design and development of automotive connection systems.

You will create detailed 3D models and drawings, perform tolerance analyses, and ensure product quality and manufacturability through GD&T and DFM/DFA methodologies. The role requires 5–8 years of CAD experience, strong CATIA V5/SolidWorks skills, and a solid background in plastics molding, tooling, or metal stamping.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of professional CAD design experience.
• Advanced CAD tools knowledge, CATIA V5 and/or SolidWorks.
• Good understanding of plastic molding and tooling, metal stamping, and basic electrical principles.

Responsabilidades

• Develop accurate 3D models and technical drawings per specifications.
• Perform tolerance analyses to ensure functionality and manufacturability.
• Apply GD&T and DFM/DFA guidelines to optimize product performance.
• Support product development of automotive connections systems and wiring solutions.
• Coordinate validations, inspections, and testing activities with engineering tools.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Developaccurate3Dmodelsandtechnicaldrawingsaccordingtocustomerspecificationsandprojectrequirements.
• Performtoleranceanalysistoensureproductfunctionalityandcompliancewithdesignrequirements.
• ApplyGD&TprinciplesandDesignforManufacturingandAssembly(DFM/DFA)guidelinestooptimizeproductperformanceandmanufacturability.
• Supportproductdevelopmentactivitiesrelatedtoautomotiveconnectionsystems,includingconnectorsandwiringsolutions.
• ManagePartNumberRequests(PNRs)forprototypeandproductionphases,ensuringaccuratedocumentationandtraceability.
• Requestandcoordinatevalidations,inspections,andtestingactivitiesusingapplicableengineeringtools.
• Supportthecreationandmaintenanceoftechnicaldocumentation,productmanuals,andengineeringrecords.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Conductcomponentinspectionsusingdigitalmeasurementandmicroscopytoolstoverifydesignqualityandcompliance.
• Identifyandresolvedesign-relatedissueswhilecontributingtocontinuousimprovementinitiatives.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor'sdegreeinMechanicalEngineering,Materialsorarelatedengineeringdisciplines.
• Requiredprofessionalexperience:5to8YearsExperience
