Itaú Europe is hiring a Back Office Analyst in Lisbon to support operations across Europe and the United States. You will ensure accurate processing, control, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions, contributing to risk mitigation and data integrity.

The role offers broad exposure to financial markets operations, regulatory reporting, settlements, and cross-functional cooperation with Front Office, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration or related field.

• Experience in Banking Operations, Middle Office, Back Office, Settlements, Reconciliations or Financial Markets Operations is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Trade Processing & Settlement: Process and validate cash, FX, and securities transactions. Ensure timely settlement and resolve exceptions.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory reports and ensure accuracy.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Review AML and sanctions-related transaction alerts; manage SWIFT messages.
• Operational Support & Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with Front Office, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, and IT; produce operational reports.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Back Office Analyst to support the Bank’s operational activities across Europe and the United States.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate processing, control, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions. The successful candidate will contribute to the mitigation of operational risks, maintenance of data integrity, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

The position offers broad exposure to financial markets operations, regulatory reporting, settlements, reconciliation processes, and cross-functional collaboration with Front Office, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

1) Trade Processing & Settlement

• Process and validate cash, FX, and securities transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate settlement of trades.
• Monitor financial flows and resolve settlement exceptions.
• Perform daily cash and securities reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal and external sources.
• Maintain data accuracy and completeness.

3) Regulatory Reporting

• Prepare and submit regulatory reports.
• Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and requirements.
• Validate the accuracy and consistency of reported information.

4) Compliance & Risk Management

• Review AML and sanctions-related transaction alerts.
• Validate and manage SWIFT messages.
• Escalate potential compliance and operational risks when required.

5) Operational Support & Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with Front Office, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams.
• Support operational issue resolution and process improvements.
• Produce operational reports and perform daily control activities.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Previous experience in Banking Operations, Middle Office, Back Office, Settlements, Reconciliations, or Financial Markets Operations is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of financial products, banking operations, and settlement processes.
• Knowledge of cash management, foreign exchange, and securities operations.
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and reconciliation processes.
• Understanding of regulatory, compliance, AML, and sanctions-related requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other operational tools.
• Experience with banking systems and reconciliation platforms is an advantage.
