DataSmart is seeking an AWS Senior Engineer in Lisbon to join us in a hybrid work model. You will design, implement, and optimize AWS architectures and CI/CD pipelines while aligning with security and cost best practices.

This role requires strong AWS hands-on experience, IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, and leadership during critical incidents. DataSmart offers international projects and clear career progression.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering with AWS focus.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and well-architected designs.
• Experience with Terraform and IaC; AWS CloudFormation experience a plus.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CodePipeline.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, governance, and cost optimization.
• Professional English (B2) and ability to work in Portugal (hybrid model).

Join our team as a AWS Senior Engineer (Hybrid – Lisbon)!

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) to define, implement, and enforce AWS cloud operational best practices.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud architectures aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical support for new cloud projects.
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure and application deployments.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident management, and root-cause analysis for critical AWS services and environments.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, observability, and performance management across AWS environments.
• Ensure cloud solutions comply with enterprise security, governance, and operational standards.
• Optimize AWS resources for performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure, processes, and operational practices.
• Provide technical leadership and support teams during high-pressure incidents and complex problem-solving situations.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, preferably with a strong focus on AWS.
• Deep hands‑on expertise with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and other cloud‑native services.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud‑native architectures and the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
• Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with CI/CD, using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience with AWS monitoring, observability, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization and resource management.
• Strong incident management and problem‑solving skills, particularly in critical/high‑pressure environments.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance.
• Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, and/or Terraform certification.
• English proficiency at a professional level (minimum B2).
• Living in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model.
