Job summary

Continental Solution Center Portugal, Unipessoal, LDA. is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to strengthen AI forecasting solutions for global supply chain planning.

You will drive Infrastructure-as-Code, maintain cloud infrastructure, and ensure secure, scalable operations in a dynamic international setting. Your role includes monitoring workloads on virtual machines and containers, collaborating across teams, and engaging with AWS Support to resolve incidents while enhancing reliability,

Qualifications

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Experience with IT infrastructure including networking, virtualization, storage and AWS.
• Solid knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL or derivatives).
• Experience with IaC implementations (AWS CDK or CloudFormation).
• Experience with Git-based version control workflows.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and Oracle databases is a plus.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Build and provide mechanisms to implement environments using IaC with AWS resources.
• Automate and maintain cloud infrastructure and routine maintenance tasks.
• Monitor workloads on VMs and containers focusing on reliability and performance.
• Implement central cybersecurity policies for department solutions.
• Evaluate and adopt cloud technologies to support AI/ML initiatives.
• Guide internal teams on infrastructure-related topics and best practices.
• Coordinate with AWS Support to resolve infrastructure-related incidents and issues.

Job Description

The IT Competence Center Supply Chain Management provides solutions for the global Supply Chain Planning at Continental Tires. We drive Artificial Intelligence based projects in this area to efficiently manage the growing complexity in a volatile business environment.

We are currently seeking a dedicated AWS Cloud Engineer for the enhancement, maintenance and roll-out of our AI forecasting solution.

Main Responsibilities:

• Building and providing mechanisms to implement solution environments using Infrastructure-as-Code approaches (IaC) with AWS cloud resources;
• Executing and automating regular maintenance activities for the department’s cloud infrastructure;
• Monitoring and analyzing workloads (on virtual machines and containers) with focus on reliability, performance and maintainability;
• Implementing central cybersecurity policies for department solutions;
• Evaluating and implementing cloud-based technologies and architectures to support AI and machine learning initiatives;
• Guiding our internal team with respect to infrastructure-related topics;
• Coordinating technical support activities and engaging with AWS Support to resolve infrastructure-related incidents and service issues.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering or comparable study;
• First working experience in IT infrastructure, including networking, virtualization, storage solutions and AWS cloud platform;
• General working knowledge in Linux environments (preferably RHEL and clones, like Oracle Linux);
• First experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) implementations (ideally with AWS CDK or AWS CloudFormation);
• Experience in Git-based version control workflows;
• Experience with Oracle databases is a plus;
• First experience with container-based environments like Docker / Kubernetes is a plus;
• Process-oriented mindset and analytical thinking skills;
• Clear and effective communication skills;
• Goal- and team-oriented working style;
• Proficiency in English language skills (written / verbal).
