GoCardless Ltd in Lisbon is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant for the Financial Control team. You will own month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and provide data for audits, reporting to the Finance Manager.

You’ll collaborate with AP, Tax and Management Reporting, perform P&L analysis, and support the annual audits. A background in financial control or management accounting, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation and posting of monthly journals such as accruals, prepayments and adjustments across all entities.
• Own key balance sheet accounts across the group, completing monthly reconciliations and resolving variances.
• Work collaboratively with AP, Tax and Management Reporting teams.
• Support the Finance Manager when required.
• Assist with the annual audits and provide requested documents.
• Produce P&L variance analysis and commentary.

The role

This is a key role in the Financial Control team. We are responsible for the month‑end close, the preparation of financial accounts, and play a key role in delivering audits. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be an Assistant Management Accountant with experience delivering month‑end activities and performing P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.

What might you have

• Perform multi‑currency balance sheet reconciliations, ideally across multiple entities
• Familiar with NetSuite and FloQast apps
• Communicate confidently with internationally based stakeholders
• Hold an accounting qualification
• Use AI to identify process efficiencies
• Ability to prioritise time and stay organised in a fast‑paced environment

Base salary range: € 25,600- € 38,400 (gross), (including 13th and 14th salary).

Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point (€ 25,600 - € 32,000) of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
