Overview

The AML L2 Trainee will support the AML L2 Compliance teams by performing initial tasks required within an AML investigation. These tasks complement the more detailed AML investigation performed by Officers and Senior Officers.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a timely and efficient investigation of alerts escalated by AML L1, ensuring alerts are correctly prioritised by date or risk category and handling alerts efficiently in collaboration with internal stakeholders to obtain relevant information.
  • Conduct diligent desktop research to assess relevant data for each alert, including KYC, payment details, account activity, clients’ counterparts’ business activity, ownership and directorship records, location, and payment vehicle choices.
  • Write clear, concise investigation reports that explain the logic of risk assessments, conclusions to close or escalate cases, and how findings link to the collected evidence.
  • Stay updated on developments globally and locally to make informed assessments across a broad range of cases involving potential financial crime (e.g., money laundering, tax evasion, sanctions circumvention, bribery and corruption, financing of terrorist activity, or other criminal activity).
  • Facilitate team discussions (e.g., at morning meetings) to contribute to the team’s organisation and coherence.
  • Contribute to continuous process and tool improvement by identifying inefficiencies, escalating issues, and sharing best practices with other AML L2 and Compliance Hub Teams.
