Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Lisbon, Portugal, seeks an experienced AIX System Administrator to provide day-to-day administration and support within a corporate client environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

You will diagnose incidents, apply patches, monitor system health, and collaborate with international teams, with Linux knowledge valued to broaden the scope; hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of proven AIX system administration experience in a corporate environment.
• Solid knowledge of AIX installation, configuration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience in client-facing support with strong accountability and prioritization skills.
• Nice to have Linux knowledge and broader Unix expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration and support of AIX systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical incidents and service requests following ITIL practices and SLAs.
• Monitor system health, perform maintenance and apply patches to maintain stability and security.
• Collaborate with client and internal teams to deliver effective infrastructure solutions.
• Contribute to process improvements and document solutions; leverage Linux knowledge to broaden the scope.

YOUR ROLE

• Providing day-to-day administration and support of AIX operating systems within a corporate client environment, ensuring high availability and performance
• Diagnosing and resolving technical incidents and service requests related to AIX infrastructure, following ITIL best practices and agreed SLAs
• Monitoring system health, performing routine maintenance tasks, and implementing patches and updates to ensure stability and security
• Collaborating closely with client teams and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective infrastructure solutions
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of support processes and documentation, while optionally leveraging Linux knowledge to broaden the scope of support provided

YOUR PROFILE

• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in AIX system administration within a corporate environment in Portugal
• Solid technical knowledge of AIX operating systems, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Experience working in client-facing support roles, with a strong sense of accountability and ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multicultural and international teams
• Knowledge of Linux systems is a valued asset, demonstrating a broader understanding of Unix-based environments
