Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions [Portugal] is seeking a data scientist to build and deploy AI/ML solutions in production. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into models and deliver scalable analytics capabilities.

You’ll work with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch and cloud services to preprocess data, train models, and validate results while ensuring explainability and compliance with data privacy.

Qualificações

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or comparable work experience.
• Proven experience in building and deploying AI models in production.
• Strong experience with Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into AI/ML solutions.
• Design, develop and deploy AI models and algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, and recommendations.
• Preprocess and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful features for model training.
• Experiment with ML techniques to improve performance and accuracy.
• Implement and optimize AI/ML models for scalability and real-time inference.
• Ensure models are explainable, auditable, and comply with data privacy and regulatory requirements.

About the Product

Our Sales Spoke team is driven by a data-first culture, leveraging both advanced analytics and AI to empower our team and customers to create additional value. We enable our business units to explore their untapped data & analytics potential and provide our customers with value-adding advanced analytics solutions.

You’ll be focused in

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into AI/ML solutions
• Designing, developing and deploying AI models and algorithms for tasks such as classification, regression, clustering, and recommendation
• Preprocess and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful features and insights for model training
• Experiment with different machine learning techniques and algorithms to improve model performance and accuracy
• Implement and optimize AI/ML models for scalability, efficiency, and real-time inference
• Conducting rigorous testing and validation of AI models to ensure robustness, reliability, and generalization
• Staying updated on the latest advancements in AI/ML research, frameworks, and tools, and evaluate their applicability to our projects
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, product owners, business stakeholders, and external partners.
• Ensure models are explainable, auditable, and aligned with data privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.

In order to succeed, you’ll need

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or comparable work experience
• Proven experience working as a Data Scientist or related role
• Hands-on experience in building and deploying AI models and generative AI models in production environments
• Experience in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML development, such as Python
• Strong experience in machine learning algorithms, techniques, and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related AI/ML services including generative AI technologies
• Strong analytical mindset, structured problem-solving skills, and a product-thinking approach.
• Great communication skills in English, both written and spoken
