Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking an AI Language Expert for Portuguese to evaluate AI-generated speech and text for accuracy and educational quality. The role is remote, hourly, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, and asynchronous collaboration with project leads.

You will assess learner language from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+, provide structured feedback, and suggest improvements to improve Portuguese models. This freelance position offers autonomy and ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese.
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2).
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks.

• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally appropriate Portuguese.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Knowledge of regional Portuguese variations (Brazilian, European, etc.)
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
