Imaginary Cloud is seeking an AI/ML focused software engineer to join a remote-first team in Portugal. You will work with .NET/C#, Azure OpenAI, and modern AI pipelines to deliver production-ready AI solutions for global clients.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and a strong emphasis on human-centric product development are essential. You should have 3+ years in AI/ML or related software roles, a CS/Data Science/AI background, and proficiency with OpenAI models, Cursor IDE, and GitHub

• 3+ years of AI/ML or related software engineering experience.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field.
• Strong experience with NET/C# (.NET Core, .NET 6/8) including backend APIs.
• Hands-on with Azure OpenAI/OpenAI models and generative AI for summarisation, extraction, filtering, speech-to-text pipelines.
• Proficiency with Agentic AI tools like Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding.
• Understanding of Transformer-based models and ML fundamentals.
• Experience deploying AI models to production (APIs/pipelines).
• Analytical mind and problem solving.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams.
• Fluency in English (spoken/written).
• Willing to live and work in Portugal.

Here's an overview of the technical skills you'll likely have to embark on our team:

3+ years of working experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related software engineering roles

• Academic background in Computer Science, Data science,Artificial Intelligence, orrelated field

• Strong professional experiencewith NET/C# (.NET Core, NET 6/8), including building orchestration and backend APls

• Hands on experience with Azure OpenAl / OpenAl / ChatGPT-class models (GPT-40-level), as well as generative Al for summarisation, extraction, filtering, speech-to-text / transcription pipelines (e.g. Whisper.NET, Azure Cognitive Services / Speech); and patterns such as RAG and Al search patterns.

• Outstanding proficiency in using Agentic AI tools like Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot to accelerate code development, refactoring, and complex debugging.

• Excellent understanding of Transformer-based model architectures and general Machine Learning principles

• Experience deploying or integrating AI models into production environments (APIs, pipelines, or backend systems)

• Analytical mind with a strong problem-solving aptitude

• Experience collaborating with engineering and product development teams

• Fluency in English, both spoken and written

• We seek team members who live in Portugal or are willing and legally qualified to live and work there

The salary range for this position is 27 785,00€ - 43 450,00€ gross per year.
