Capgemini Engineering invites an experienced AI Engineer to join our AI Engineering team in Évora, Portugal. You will design, build, and deploy data and AI solutions at scale, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes cloud-native architectures on GCP, data governance, and automated ML workflows. You should have a strong background in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Data Engineering, with fluency in English and experience with SQL and Python.

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join our growing AI Engineering team. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering or Data Engineering, who are passionate about building and scaling AI-driven solutions in cloud environments. You will work on the design, development, and deployment of advanced data and AI solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to transform business requirements into scalable and production-ready systems. Experience within the Telecommunications sector is highly valued, as many of our initiatives focus on large-scale data processing, customer analytics, network intelligence, and AI-powered automation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data and AI solutions. Build and optimize data pipelines supporting advanced analytics and machine learning use cases. Develop, train, deploy, and monitor machine learning models in production environments. Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions. Implement cloud-native AI and data architectures, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Ensure data quality, governance, security, and performance across data platforms. Automate data processing, model deployment, and monitoring through CI/CD and MLOps practices. Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI, analytics, and data engineering best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Professional experience in either: Data Science / Machine Learning Engineering / Data Engineering / Big Data Engineering. Solid experience with SQL and data modelling concepts. Experience building data pipelines and data processing workflows. Strong programming skills in Python. Understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and AI solution lifecycle. Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Fluency in English.
