Capgemini Engineering in Portugal is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable data and AI solutions in cloud environments.

You will work with data scientists and engineers, using Python, SQL, and GCP, contributing to end-to-end production systems and AI initiatives in the telecommunications domain.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL and data modelling concepts.
• Experience building data pipelines and data processing workflows.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data and AI solutions.

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Implement cloud-native AI and data architectures, preferably on GCP.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and performance across data platforms.
• Automate data processing, model deployment, and monitoring through CI/CD and MLOps practices.

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join our growing AI Engineering team. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering or Data Engineering, who are passionate about building and scaling AI-driven solutions in cloud environments. You will work on the design, development, and deployment of advanced data and AI solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to transform business requirements into scalable and production-ready systems. Experience within the Telecommunications sector is highly valued, as many of our initiatives focus on large-scale data processing, customer analytics, network intelligence, and AI-powered automation.

YOUR PROFILE

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Professional experience in either: Data Science / Machine Learning Engineering / Data Engineering / Big Data Engineering. Solid experience with SQL and data modelling concepts. Experience building data pipelines and data processing workflows. Strong programming skills in Python. Understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and AI solution lifecycle. Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Fluency in English.
