JobCloud is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications across teams and products in Porto, Portugal. You will work with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, and intelligent agents to move ideas to production while ensuring security and scalable architectures.

The role emphasizes collaboration with platform and security teams, tooling for CI/CD, and mentoring colleagues to turn business needs into reliable software solutions.

Qualificações

• Strong Python and backend software-engineering skills.
• Experience delivering AI-powered or data-intensive apps.
• Experience integrating enterprise data sources.
• Experience with tool calling, structured outputs, and evaluation of nondeterministic systems.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, privacy and secure data handling.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

Are you a passionate AI Engineer eager to build AI solutions that will reshape the European job market?

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to join our cross-functional AI Hub, working across teams and products to turn the latest advances in AI into solutions used by our customers and internal teams. In this high-impact role, you’ll design, build and deploy AI-powered applications and services, working with technologies such as LLMs, Generative AI, RAG and intelligent agents. You’ll experiment with new approaches, rapidly turn ideas into prototypes, and take the most promising solutions all the way into production.

A decade ago JobCloud conceived a concept ahead of its time - a product designed to efficiently manage and optimize the usage of the customer’s hiring budget while identifying the optimal channels to maximize the visibility of job ads (AI/ML are key to optimizing this process) and effectively reach the target public (potential employees).

Today our mission is to revolutionize the industry standard shifting away from the current job ads paradigm of Pay per Duration toward Pay per Performance. What was once merely a concept is now on the cusp of becoming a reality!

YOUR TASKS

• Design, build, and operate production AI applications that connect language models with enterprise data, APIs, and business workflows.
• Develop conversational and AI-assisted experiences using tool calling, structured outputs, orchestration, state management, and appropriate combinations of deterministic workflows, RAG, and agentic behavior.
• Integrate and prepare data from APIs, databases, document repositories, and event-driven systems, ensuring it remains secure, current, and suitable for AI use.
• Establish automated evaluation, testing, monitoring, tracing, feedback, and safe fallback mechanisms covering quality, groundedness, reliability, latency, and cost.
• Collaborate with platform and security teams on deployment, CI/CD, observability, access control, privacy, auditing, and prompt-injection defenses.
• Own technical designs, communicate trade-offs, review code, mentor colleagues, and turn ambiguous business needs into maintainable solutions.

YOUR SKILLS

• Strong Python and production software-engineering skills, including backend APIs, containers, CI/CD, cloud deployment, and observability.
• Experience delivering LLM-powered, machine-learning, or data-intensive applications beyond proof-of-concept work.
• Experience integrating heterogeneous enterprise data sources and building reliable data-preparation and synchronization workflows.
• Practical experience with grounded AI applications, tool or function calling, structured outputs, and evaluation of nondeterministic systems.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, privacy, and secure data handling.
• Sound architectural judgment and the ability to lead technical discussions with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
