AdvanceWorks in Lisbon is seeking an experienced AI Architect to join the cross-functional architecture team and lead the design of AI-enabled software across the SDLC, Data, and Operations.

You will set standards, govern architectural evolution, and collaborate with privacy/compliance, focusing on scalable, regulated AI solutions.

The role requires hands-on coding in Java/.NET/Python, cloud expertise, and a willingness to work in a hybrid Lisbon environment with fluent Portuguese.

Qualificações

• Strong software development background with production code in Java, .NET, Python.
• Experience with AI-native architectures: agent orchestration, LLMs, RAG, guardrails, MCP.
• Cloud architecture for AI/ML workloads including cost mgmt and caching.
• Experience across heterogeneous stacks incl. OutSystems, Salesforce Agentforce, open source, microservices.
• Knowledge of GDPR and ideally EU AI Act; security-by-design mindset.

Responsabilidades

What will be your role

We are looking for a AI Architect to join the cross-functional architecture team at the heart of a large-scale AI acceleration program. This program is redefining the IT operating model, evolving it into an orchestrated ecosystem of AI agents and specialist skills that spans the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), Data, and Operations. The program runs across multiple execution streams, including development on several platforms, AI testing, observability, data products, and talk2data, with a strong focus on measurable results and impact. As part of the transversal architecture team, yous ensure coherence, governance, and architectural evolution across every initiative, working closely with the privacy & compliance function and the teams tracking adoption metrics.

Your responsibilities will include

• Defining standards and blueprints for integrating AI across the SDLC, Data, and Operations;
• Ensuring interoperability between platforms while managing technical debt and legacy migration;
• Sizing infrastructure for AI/ML workloads and defining the deployment strategy;

What should you bring to the team

• A solid foundation as a software developer, built through years of shipping real production code in Java, .NET, Python, or similar;
• Proven experience with AI-native architectures: agent orchestration, LLMs in production, RAG patterns, guardrails, and MCP;
• Solid cloud architecture background with a focus on AI/ML workloads, including cost management, rate limiting, and inference caching;
• Comfortable across heterogeneous stacks, including OutSystems, Salesforce (Agentforce), open source, event-driven architecture, and microservices, with a modular mindset that avoids vendor lock-in;
• Experience in regulated environments (telco, banking, or insurance), with solid knowledge of GDPR and, ideally, the EU AI Act;
• Security-by-design mindset applied to AI, paired with CI/CD pipelines featuring AI-powered quality gates and end-to-end observability;
• Availability to work in a hybrid model, based in Lisbon;
• Fluent Portuguese;

Nice to have

• Deeper familiarity with the EU AI Act and its implications for enterprise architecture;
• Experience defining AI governance frameworks or centers of excellence;
• Background contributing to or leading architecture communities of practice;
